Friday Favies::There's always something to love...

Last week's Friday Favies post was two days late, oops! I'm making up for it this week though...Friday Favies is Thursday Favies this time.

I am leaving town {again} this weekend. Chris and I are going to Lubbock, TX to help little sis move into her apartment. Hence the early Friday Favies post!

First up-  Moroccan Argan Oil by Organix- All of which I buy at Target (also available at Ulta and Walgreens)

This is my fave beauty product collection ever in the history of everdom! For real, they have it all...and I USE it all {almost}! Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask... You name it, I use it! They take care of you from head to toe!

{Organix Moroccan Argan Oil-Shampoo}- I use this every time I wash my hair-- i.e. every other day unless otherwise needed
{Organix Moroccan Argan Oil-Penetrating Oil}- After the shower, run through wet hair--> also protects hair from heat damage

These are all the Organix hair products I use. There are even more and I am sure all of them are fab! I would also like to try the Organix Morroccan Argan Oil Blow Out Cream, but I am currently way too attached to Behave by Aquage {you can read about that here}.
***I have super thick hair. Therefore, this is how I use these products to tame it. For fine hair that might be a bit different. They also have a Light Penatrating Oil that isn't as thick and heavy as the one I use.

That was all just the head, but I said head to toe! So here are the super duper AMAZE products for the body!

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil- Body Wash- Makes for a delish-smelling, moisturizing showa!
Organix Moroccan Argan Oil- Body Lotion- Light and lasting moisture{perfect for this scolding hot summer}

Don't think I will try the dry body oil. It may work great for peeps that live in super dry areas. If anyone tries it, please fill me in!

One plus about all of these, is that every item is $7.99. I know it varies by store and product...but since I have used all of these things, it didn't matter where I went or which I was purchasing, it was always $7.99. There is just something so comforting about always knowing what it will cost. Maybe just me? Hmmm.....

FYI, all this "oily shtuff" sounds a little "oily" I know. However, no part of me feels that way when using it. I feel moisturized...but def not oily!

Ok holy cow, on to the next one {should I have just kept that as one Friday Favies post?!?}

Second-  SunnyD -->It's a delight!

Yea, I know...it's not real juice, but recently I have gotten reacquainted with MY yummo version of juice and I am definitely remembering how good it is!

Newest joke with hubby- "Dear, make sure to drink your juice before bed!" Btdub, he HATES SunnyD...say WHAT?!?

Third- Authentic Mexican Goodness

My "work wifey", Christina, just returned from her summer trip to El Paso to visit fam and she HOOKED ME UP! I was so stoked to see all the favies she brought back to me. Homeade {like} tortillas, chile, and two of my fave Mexican candies. My hubby's got some enchiladas to cook soon! I will try to make it all last, but it is SOOOOOOOOOOO hard to do that when it is all so scrumptious!

I just love Sephora in general, but I'm definitely most favorable to this stick of long-lasting, waterproof, easy to blend, goodness. It comes in so many different colors. I've personally tried Classic Black and Shimmering Electric Purple, both of which I LOVED! It is retractable so no pencil marks all over your makeup bag and no breaking! I've never had one break, {knock on wood}--> and they last a pretty long time. It also has a smudger at the end making for easy blending and no harsh lines! The BEST in my book!

This scent is my go-to smelly for school and home. I can't possibly get tired of it. It is "Heaven-scent"--> {I got jokes}.  It works great in Scentsy warmers too, which is all I have. Yummalicious is all I can use to describe it!

Last- This cross necklace from Bella C

I have already posted about these necklaces once, {here}, but I think I will actually be buying this one. I am IN LOVE! Btdub, Bella C is a wonderful place to shop. I "liked" the Bella C Facebook page, so now I can be updated on all the new items they receive! Just click on the link and you can too!

This is what I'm loving! What are your current favies? Happy Friday {tomorrow}!!!

P.S. Hubby "approached" me today about including one of his favies each week! So I laid out the terms {one, and only one, per week} and he agreed. So Chris Odom's favie of the week is...

The return of football season!!! "Go Fins, Red Raiders, and Redskins! RG3 is the bomb-diggity! Cowboys are going down!" --> Words of the hubs. Btdub, not too cooperative in the interview! Get excited because Odie has a lot to share!

Cleaning Makes a Heart Happy:: Washin' Yo Washin' Machine

I just got back from Jal after some much needed time with my fam, {and lots of hours sitting alongside my mama on the couch doing nothing but watching our fave shows}. It was great, but back to reality! Before I hit up my classroom to get ready for another year with my kinder sweets, I decided to complete a deep clean at home. I can't start work until my burning desire for a spotless, gleaming, Fabuloso-smelling house is fulfilled.

First, I visited Pinterest to track down some special cleaning tips I have been wanting to use. One of which, was this tutorial on cleaning your top-loading washer. Seriously y'all, I will feel a bajillion times better in my clothes now that I have done this. "Soap goes through the washer all the time! There is no need to clean it!" SCREEEEEEEEEEECH! {Hand up and all}...WRONG! It is much "filthier" than you might think. The proof is in the water!

All you need is bleach and vinegar--> two things any avid cleaner already has in their casa!

Clorox bleach & white vinegar

1st--> Fill your washer with hot water {super load} and add a quart of bleach.

Next-->  Let it run for about a minute to get the bleach and water mixed up. Then allow it to sit for about an hour.

Next-->  After an hour is up, allow the machine to run its' cycle. {longest wash}

Next-->  Immediately fill the machine again with hot water and add a quart of vinegar. Again, let the machine run for about a minute and then let it sit for an hour.

Next-->  While the vinegar/water mixture is settling, this is your time to scrub it down! I used a scouring pad and the vinegar & water in the washer to scrub the inside and outside.

Things really start gettin' real when you begin taking things apart. I took the agitator's cap off and ewww! I scrubbed the inside and the lid of that thing!

See...GROSS!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!

To finish it off, I used an all-purpose cleaner to wipe down the outside. I did this while the machine was running its' last cycle with the water and vinegar. I used Method's all-purpose cleaner in pink grapefruit scent {from Target}. This stuff smells super yummy, and it's green! Another favie cleaner of mine is Fabuloso. Hubs and I use it religiously. I love to leave some in the sink for a day with some water. It seriously makes the entire house smell UH-mazing! I have only ever been able to find the liquid cleaner. However, when I saw this spray cleaner in Jal this weekend, I snagged it. So now I have two deliciously clean options to choose from!

Not to mention, those peeps at Method are funny! Above, the yellow label on top says "This Beauty is a Beast" and below you can see the funny they put on the back label. I seriously laugh out loud every time I read this label. That makes for happy cleaning!

Hilarious!

One last wipedown

In the end, you have a sparkling, clean washing machine! No more funky smells and no more gunk! As I read in this tutorial, it is good to do this deep clean twice a year.

It shines in my eyes!

Also, you can use Tide's Washing Machine Cleaners about once a month for an easy means of cleaning your washing machine.

P.S. She also has a tutorial for all you front-loaders out there! I hope to be you someday!

To finish up my cleaning frenzy, I referred to this video tutorial from Clean My Space to clean out my Keurig. It definitely needed it! Btdub, this blog has a plethora of cleaning tips for soooooooo many things I never even thought of. For real, check it out!

Now I feel refreshed and the smell of Fabuloso has got me feelin' pretty hunky dory! Now to flip the switch to all things kindergarten!

Any good cleaning tips? I would LOVE to hear them!!!

Happy Birthday Odie!

Happy birthday to the COOLEST guy you will ever have the pleasure of meeting!!!Today is my hubby's 26th birthday! Unfortunately, he is in Austin and I am in Jal, NM. Therefore, we will just have to celebrate tomorrow! Until then, happy birthday Stephen Christopher Odom! XOXOXOXO!

Seriously, that guy with the shiny head...he's got it all!

Look at him and try not to smile...IMPOSSIBLE!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday! Monday is like the new Friday right? Ok, not cool! I'm still on summer vacay so lately I have had some trouble deciding what day of the week it is...TEACHER PROBLEMS!

Friday Favies: On Sunday {So what!}

I am a couple of days late on my second only Friday Favies post, but I am at home enjoying some quality fam time and really don't have a care in the world! Short and sweet is my motto for this one!

Uno- Olympics and Michael Phelps

I had a mad crush on Michael Phelps four years ago and those feelings just came flooding back this summer! I mean, I just love him {my hubby is my #1 stud of course}. I think he is adorbs and not to mention, a PHENOMONAL athlete--> making him super duper cutesy in my book! My favie moment, which also happened to be the WORST {bittersweet} was watching him swim his last race last night! So sad to see him go but that guy has wrecked shop in metals and I guess it is about time he just relaxes!

Ca-yute right?!?

I also still love watching gymnastics. I never did gymnastics growing up. I never even cheered, but for some reason I was always obsessed with it and when Olympics time rolled around as a kid, I was jumping off of everything, doing cartwheels and wanna-be somersaults, and using a railroad tie in the backyard as a balance beam while my dad watered the grass. I still want to do all of the above when I watch it! Last night I watched the special on NBC about the Magnificent 7 {USA womens gymnastic team in 1996}. I remember admiring every one of them, especially Dominique Moceanu and Kerri Strugs. I still remember Kerri's vault like it was yesterday and it still gives me chills watching it today. Baller!
{YouTube}

I just LOVE the patriotism everyone embraces at Olympics time!

Next on my Olympic to do list: Watch Lolo Jones run! Her story {as are many other athletes'} is such an inspirational one. I am SOOOOOOOOO rootin' for that girl!

{Not to mention, she's gorge}

Dos-- Allsup's Gut Grenade {aka. Beef & Bean Burrito}

That's right, one of my fave things to get when I come home is a burrito from Allsup's. The only people who will understand this appreciation for a simple fried burrito are us small town natives whose day is made with a trip to Allsups for one of these yummies!

So...if you are ever strollin' through Small Town USA, {mostly New Mexico}, stop by for one. Seriously! P.S. Do NOT forget taco sauce!!!

Tres-- Sonic Raspberry Vanilla Cream Sprite--> Yes, all of it! If you like candy and you like the idea of drinking candy, this is your drink! YUMMO is all I can say!
Nothing beats happy hour at Sonic!

This is definitely the case in my classroom!

Cuatro-- RHONJ

Once again, my reality TV addiction has me glued to the television for this show every Sunday. I'm not proud of it, but the first step to recovery is admitting it right? I'm a sucker for RH, but definitely obsessed with New Jersey's version. Can't wait for this week's episode. BUT, I have to because there is NO NEW EPISODE this week! WHAT?!? I actually just found this out...not a happy camper. Mom and I had a little watch party planned because I was home, but negativo on that. Bummer-ama!

Regardless, I can't wait until next week to see what drama arises on their little vacay together!

Cinco-- the beautiful, open, star-filled New Mexico sky

Obviously no stars in this photo--> hard to get a pick of those!

I LOVE sitting outside visiting with fam when I come home. It is so relaxing and calming to be able to look up at the sky and just see stars. No city lights. No planes. Just stars. You gain a true appreciation for it when you no longer have it at your convenience! Just another joy of coming home!

Seis-- One Direction

Yes, that boy band all the little girlies are lovin...me too! Truly, I'm just obsessed with their oh-so-popular song, "That's What Makes You Beautiful". It is SOOOOOOOOOOOO catchy and I cannot, no matter where I am or what I am doing, resist singing into something-->pen, phone, hand, whatever's available}. Here is the video for those of you who haven't heard it. {I can't imagine anyone having not heard it}.

{YouTube}
Yea, I just listened to it... AGAIN!

And lastly, siete--  Sundays in Jal, NM
That song, "That's what I love about Sunday" by Craig Morgan perfectly describes what it is like to be home on a Sunday. We went to church and then came home to do "not much of anything" today and it is the BESTEST!

Mama and I

Random, but I had the opportunity of going into the Sunday School building today, {a building I haven't been in in about 5 years}, and I had to take a pic of the COOLEST coke machine known to man. Talk about vintage! This thing doesn't dispense sodas anymore, nor did it when I was younger. However, it runs on a faith and honesty system in which people just open up the door, grab a bevie, and drop some change. Those who grew up in this church totally understand my fascination with it! Just another fond memory!

That's what I'm lovin' this week! Y'all enjoy the rest of your Super Sunday!
