Weekend Blues

Well...it's Sunday and the weekend is over. Whomp whomp whomp! To add to the sting, my sis just left today! That was stinky! I kept asking the hubs, "Did you check her oil? Did you check her tires? Is the Garmin set up?" I feel like a mama who just sent their kid to college! Chris and I will definitely be suffering from a little ENS, {Empty Nest Syndrome}--> it's a real problem!

Shelbs sportin' her oober cute neon pink blazer!

We really wanted to do something fun and unique before she left, so Chris found the PERFECT thing! Last night we went to Cedars Food Park in Dallas for a grand opening event. It was complete with live music and lots and lots of amazing food! To back this up a bit, when we moved to Dallas last summer, I came with the hopes of going to a food park and hitting up some food trucks, but was sadly disappointed to find out that Dallas really didn't have that yet. I seriously DREAMED of this place that didn't quite exist. Dallas had food trucks, but never all of them in one location. However, Chris was browsing around on the internet yesterday afternoon and BAM!--> my dream became a reality! Heaven was now placed on Earth and we were going!

Super duper excited X 1,000,000,000

I cannot put into words how happy this made me! Shelb and Chris also LOVED it! We tried to "divide and conquer" and hit up as many food trucks as possible so that we could share here and there and taste a little bit of everything! Here is just a glimpse of the YUMMIES we tried!

There were just too many to get to everything--> good enough reason to go back!!!

We were stuffed!

On our way home Shelb wanted a mini-tour of downtown Dallas so we took a little cruise. Chris and I have yet to drive across the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge so of course we did, and it was gorge! I love seeing the city skyline at night. It never ceases to amaze me!

Today we woke up knowing it was "the day". Ugh! Why does goodbye have to be so lame! We took Shelb to lunch on her way out of town and then said our goodbyes! It was a SHORT summer but definitely a SWEET summer with her here! Much love to ya sissy!

Hope you all had a fab weekend! I am off to the kitchen to partake in some YUMMY beans and cornbread that my hubby made. He is definitely the bomb.com!

P.S. Just to prove his awesomeness, I sent him to the grocery store yesterday morning and made him a list in the reminders on his phone. It is synced to mine so I can add to it as he shops and see what he has gotten as he checks it off the list. Well, I checked the list at home while he was shopping {just to add something, I am not crazy}, and found this little somethin' sweet added to the list. Ummm...UH-mazing I know! Gotta love him!

{Btdub, should read "strawberry Jello Box"}

Xoxoxoxo everyone!

Friday Favies First

Friday!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is SOOOOOOOOOO Friday--> the BEST day of the week and I am sooooo loving all the Friday Favorites blogs I am reading. So I have decided that I have a lot of favies to share and what better day to share them than on a Friday after a long week's work? Great way to end the week! I'm also going to do my first linky with Ashlee at  Life's Little Lovelies!

your domain name

First time for everything, so here goes it...

1.  The time I have had with my sis this summer. She came to stay with the hubs and I for the summer and I have to say it has been nothin' but a good time! It FLEW by and now she is leaving us this Sunday!  I will not cry I will not cry...  She is definitely my bestie and the only thing getting me through it is the fact that I have so selfishly taken her from my mama for the majority of the summer. So Mama, here she is!

2.  Extra time with my babies! I feel like I never actually get time with the other loves of my life...my pups! I have been taking advantage of summer and spending a little extra time with the babes. I mean, who doesn't like running errands with a cute pup sitting shotgun!?!

Bt-dub, this was taken with me riding shottie in my sister's truck. I don't text or take photos will driving and I don't let my baby hang out of the window in traffic and without me holding tightly to his harness... {Not sure why I felt that was necessary}

3.  The fact that one of my favorite websites {Tobi} had a sale for the sole reason of the CEO proposing to the stylist! 50% off and it made for a great excuse with the hubs. I mean, shopping for items on sale and "all because two people fell in love"-- I sure hope you all sang that song in your head like I did when I typed it!

Here are the TWO items {yes, only TWO} that I purchased and I am so stoked to get...

4.  Pirate's Booty--> This yummy treat is a much healthier alternative to Cheetoh Puffs. I mean, I certainly don't claim to be a healthy eater. In fact, I am quite the opposite. However, I will eat this entire bag in one sitting and not feel totally guilty about it. {If they are worse for me than I believe them to be, please don't burst my bubble}.

Pirate's Booty {means pirate's treasure}

5.  Emi Jay Hair Ties--> I am SOOOOOOO jumping on this bandwagon! I just ordered some and will def be sportin' them as soon as they arrive on my doorstep. {Bt-dub, if any of you know of some good boutiques in the Lewisville/Flower Mound/Coppell/Las Colinas area,  puh-LEASE fill a girl in. New to DFW and just don't know where to go. Hence, the reason I ordered them.} Speaking of, the same Ashlee I am linking up with at Life's Little Lovelies is hosting a giveaway with Plain Jane Boutique where you could win some of these hair ties! I have already entered and I'm crossing my fingers for more! These things pull double duty as adorable wristwear and hair ties that leave no crease! And BOOM goes the dynamite!

6.  Behave Smoothing Elixir by Aquage--> The bestest smelling smoothing solution that you can apply to damp hair for soft, lightweight, healthy-looking goodness! YUMMO!

7.  King of Queens--> The best sitcom ever made in my opinion and the opinion of my hubby! It is always our go-to show if there aren't any of those other faves of ours on TV {Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, RHNJ, etc-- obviously mine}. We could watch the same one again and again and I feel like we always find something new to laugh at. Hilarious!

8.  Movie Time--> Going to a movie is one of my favorite things to do. I am not sure if it is the popcorn, the coke, or...ok it's totally the popcorn! The smell gets me every time! I will eat movie theater popcorn any time any day. Even after a five course meal? Yes, even then! We are about to head out the door to go see The Watch. I am crossing my fingers on this one. It may not be super funny, but my husband will laugh at anything and his laugh alone is pretty infectious, one of the top ten things I love about the guy!

Those are just some of my favorite things!  Enjoy your Friday evening peeps!
